To the Girl Who Feels Worn Out

To the girl who feels TIRED and can never seem to find rest:

Do you ever feel like you never get a real day off? Maybe you feel like even when you have a “free” day, you still have a list of all the things you SHOULD be doing in the back of your mind.

That’s me. Even when I have a free Saturday, I’m dwelling on what I didn’t get done Friday and all the things I’ll have to do Monday.

Can I ever just be IN THE MOMENT?

Well, today, I actually lived in the moment!

•Today, I laughed at fall festival with a sweet sister-friend.

•Today, I rode a Ferris wheel and saw the world from above.

•Today, I ate greasy pizza on a paper plate and didn’t get any sauce on my shirt (ha, for once)

•Today, I ate ice cream without worrying about the calories.

•Today, I didn’t think to check social media.

•Today, I laughed and loved and lived in the moment.

While every day can’t be carefree and absent of responsibilities, I think we can find those little moments of rest in Christ.

Those moments are God’s gift to us. The present is when God is nearest to us.

Jesus meets us in that stillness and gives us the little blossoms of energy and rest we need to continue pressing through this life.

So next time you feel worn out, like that vacation will never come, like your weary bones will never find rest, turn to Him.

Ask Him to meet you where you are.

God meets us where we are and refreshes our weary souls. He is the only way to truly find rest.

While we can’t always enjoy the moment, we can LIVE in it and meet Christ in it.

I know that when tomorrow comes, it will be back to the daily grind and stressing about all the things I didn’t get done yesterday.

But that’s okay. Because when the cares of my heart and mind and life are heavy, my Jesus meets me right where I am and eases my heart with a little divine TLC.❤️

“Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
